I'm making a character sheet template for myself and my friends. When its ready, I'll share it here for anyone to use. I wonder if I should also share my personal handwriting font sometime? Maybe I'll wait until after I finish Amazing Alligator to release it.

Its really foggy outside here, so I'll be spending a lot of the holidays inside in front of my computer this year. This means I can make more art, but I'll have a bit more trouble thinking of interesting things to talk about than usual...

Recently I found the name of an old picture book I had loved back in elementary school! I forgot the name was Roxaboxen, but I remembered it because it has beautiful illustrations and a wonderful story about imagination and growing up. I asked on a subreddit what the name was and someone provided the correct answer almost immediately! So that's very neat, I strongly recommend Roxaboxen.

Today is December 11th, 2022

I'm going to be changing the look of the current Character Design Exercise LATEST buttons from now on. Since some of the individual designs' names are too verbose or syllabic to fit onto the right side of the button, the text will read still LATEST. Instead, the icon for the CDE will be a preview of the piece instead of the "New! burst" icon.

The climax of the Road Trip arc is coming up in the next few weeks. I hope that you stick around to see what I've written even if it seems depressing at first! Just like in real life, sad things are necessary to give context to the wonderful things that come next. I'm not going to spoil anything since I've been planning this arc for a long time, just know that everything that's going to happen is deliberate and will have a happy resolution.

Happy December, everyone!

My next art tutorial will cover how to make pixel art from existing images using filters, and will be released well before Pixel Day (which is in late January).

I never actually got around to getting my driver's license, and I'm 25! So, if uploads slow down, its because I'll be working on that. I'll do my best to keep my current upload schedule in spite of this. You can still count on one page of Amazing Alligator as well as three to four smaller character design pieces being released every week.

I've been playing a lot of Terraria and Golden Sun in my free time recently. Its fun figuring out how the different NPCS have to be spaced apart in specific biomes. And I love how in Golden Sun, the battle spells are also used to interact with the environment in the field!

Today is December 1st, 2022

I wanted my work to be easier for visitors to access, so I made these buttons to streamline my newest and most relevant articles! In addition to updating this list weekly, I plan on sharing my thoughts on various topics here in news posts. It might be useful to think of this as a journal or blog, where I'll talk about whatever's going on in my life or in my head if its interesting enough.

So, since this is the first post of its kind, I suppose introductions are in order! My name is Eric Edward McCutcheon, but I prefer being called by my last name online. I am a heterosexual caucasian man who works for the Southgate Recreation and Parks district in parks maintenance. So, that means that during the day I do a lot of simple physical work outdoors like mowing, blowing leaves, cutting weeds, or even replacing trash bags in cans. Its pretty mundane stuff most of the time, although from time to time we'll encounter an interesting pedestrian or exotic animal.

When I get home from work, I usually either play computer games or make art. I don't get commissioned often which is fine by me, since I believe art is something that should be seen, spread, and enjoyed without the hassle of monetization. Whenever someone does buy a commission from me, I make sure they're paying for the satisfaction of a high quality piece of art made specifically for them! I don't want to think my clients are just paying for a finished product or for the time it takes to make it.

I'll save my thoughts on memetics and my obligation to make high quality art for another time, however. I'd love to know what you think about these buttons and about any of my art! Thank you very much for reading all of this, and I'll see you next time.
